  Great location and lovely old Portuguese house

  Liked: Location is very good, easy to get to from the airport. It is close to the beaches and the supermarket as well as the bars and restaurants, which was handy for us for dinners and breakfasts. I personally liked the old furniture and the features of the old Portuguese house which added to the pleasure of staying there.

  Perfect place to discover Azores

  Liked: Perfect place to discover the island. Close to highway, still quiet, very nice garden. In 5 min you can shop in supermarket which is open every day. Our host, Paula and Joao, were very helpful and kind, we felt like at home. Something you never experience in the hotel.

  Wonderful stay with a wonderful host!

  Liked: We got a lovely welcome, it's definitely the best part of this homestay and really makes the difference. The decoration is really impressive, it's almost like staying in a museum. The garden is lovely. The location is residential so fairly quiet with parking a few meters away, there is a supermarket nearby and it's really close to restaurants, the sea and Ponta Delgada by car. Everything is clean, the kitchen has everything you need, you get fridge access, and the beds are extremely comfortable. I definitely recommend!

  Disliked: From what I understand we didn't use the usual guest bathroom, but in the main bathroom it's a bit inconvenient that it's not possible to hang the shower head when trying to wash long hair, though it's not a big deal obviously. The following are not specific to this homestay, as they are common issues on the island, I'm just including them so you know what to expect: noise insulation is not great (again, the location is pretty quiet, as a light sleeper I found ear plugs perfectly sufficient to solve the problem), humidity on the island is very high so everything takes a long time to dry/feels a bit moist (the portable heater helped with that) and the houses wear down easily so there may be some leaks during heavy rains, due to the climate there might be the occasional dead beetle in the kitchen and there will be fruit flies if you leave food out.
