  Liked: A very friendly host who was waiting for us when we arrived from the airport. We had reserved a ground-floor apartment. The accommodations were huge, with a private entrance at the back of the house and a private terrace where we enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. The place was very clean, and there was plenty of everything we needed. The place is close to the beach and several shops and restaurants, yet in a completely quiet location. We highly recommend it—Pousada da Vila became our base for exploring every corner of São Miguel. If we return to the Azores, this will definitely be our first choice.

  Disliked: The only minor downside was the creaky bed. Other than that, everything was absolutely fine!

  Liked: We really enjoyed our stay at Jeff's. We stayed in the room with a shared bathroom and the concept behind the idea was very thought through. From separate storage in the bathroom to our own space of hanging towels and even a little washing line to hang swim suits. The shared kitchen, living and reading room was super nice and inviting to exchange with other guests. You can tell that a lot of love and hard work went into the house; everything feels very cozy and clean at the same time.

  Disliked: Only thing: It was very humid in the room, probably because of the weather, which made it hard to properly dry our towels that we could not hang outside. But this is criticism on a high level. All in all we had a really great stay!

  Excellent stay for San Miguel

  Liked: Very nice, clean, with great atmosphere. Jeff is very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect to tour the island. The shared kitchen is very comfortable.

  Liked: Best base for visiting the entire island. Walking distance to the marina for whale watching tours, to the famous Queijadas do Morgado cafe, cafes and restaurants. We really liked the accommodation and the shared kitchen downstairs as we could prepare breakfast and keep food in the fridge. We highly recommend it as a base:)
