  A very pleasant and comfortable stay

  Liked: Central location with all the local amenities easily accessible. Large standard rooms with a balcony big enough to sit out on. Staff always pleasant, polite and friendly with rooms cleaned every day. Wide variety of choices at breakfast but didn’t try the restaurant in the evening so cannot comment. Plenty of places to sit outside in addition to around the swimming pool as well as all the lounges inside. Car parking fine. All in all a very pleasant and comfortable place to stay.

  Disliked: It’s a bit of a maze and more plans showing how to find the swimming pool would be handy; tea or coffee making facilities in the room would be great. It probably needs further investment.

  Liked: Overall our stay was great. Perhaps it wasnt too kids friendly as I would have imagined. Also some of the facilities in the room were quite old

  A lovely gracious, Hotel in a jewel of a town in Alentejo Portugal

  Liked: The hotel is a converted 16 century Royal convent and the building is of great historical importance and for that reason it’s just a privilege to be able to sleep here. The gardens in particular are glorious there is a centuries, old English walnut tree, and a very old and stunning magnolia grand Floor out, which was in flower when I happen to be staying at the hotel. It’s perfume infused the lobby with its lemon sherbet sense. The hotel also permits dogs, which is a luxury for dog owners, such as myself.

  Disliked: The property has a lovely old world quality to it however, I do think that some of the furnishings are slightly outdated, and the property could benefit from some carefully considered updates as long, of course, as they respect the history of the building

  I will not be in a hurry to return!

  Disliked: Where to begin? We had our small dog with us so it is good to have easy access to the exterior. The room we were allocated couldn't have been a longer walk. It was very hot outside and the air conditioning wasn't working adequately. We had lunch and I was expecting a draught, or at the very least, a bottle of beer. I was given a can and it tasted metallic. Breakfast was ok. When I checked out it transpires that, despite having given my Pestana membership number at check in, the receptionist, who was clearly challenged, had not applied the number for discounts.
