  Disappointed and would not book again

  Liked: The hotel was in a great location. There was free parking but it was difficult to find. Proprietor was very pleasant. Air conditioning was good, although little natural light and no view.

  Disliked: Very steep stairs up to the room, which meant it was difficult to carry cases up there. No lift. The room had only one Velux window for natural light and air. Bathroom had no window. Shower was powerful but grubby. Needed some bleach cleaner.. No power point near kettle and no glasses (or paper cups) for water. Bottom sheet very skimpy which meant we saw the very stained and dirty mattress. No matress cover!!! Needs a complete refurbishment. Would not stay again for hygiene reasons.

  Liked: It was really good value for money, in a great location. It was fine if you are just using it as a place to lay your head and working with a smaller budget.

  Disliked: I was in the eaves so the head height wasn't good if you were over 1.65m. The hotel allows smoking so my floor had a really strong smell of cigarettes. The shower isn't very waterproof, so there was a lot of water on the floor after my shower. The bedding was clean but stained.

  Best value I had in Madrid

  Liked: Excellent value for money.

  Disliked: Very thin walls, but that seems to be common in Madrid.

  Excellent

  Liked: The location was brilliant right in the centre. The rooms were clean and roomy and th staff looked after our bags after check out

  Disliked: The twin room we had was on the top floor. My mum is 83 and the stairs were hard for her. I did request a lower floor room, but to be fair we booked the day before and they were probably all taken.
