Exceptional
Liked: We had the most wonderful 11 days at Can Maximino, this place is really special. We arrived and the house was beautiful presented. The kitchen is very well equipped. The pool was a fabulous temperature and very good size surrounded by a wonderful garden! The area is so peaceful and the view from the terrace is so pretty. The restaurant that’s a minutes walk away is 100% a must visit. Joan the host, was so helpful and attentive. Her mother and sister live next door were lovely lovely people. Lastly Mingu and Nuk the neighbours dogs were the most friendly dogs, and great for children to be around, my children were sad to leave them! When in Catalonia again we will be staying at Can Maximino!
Stunning Country Escape
Liked: The property is very nice and has everything that we needed for our stay. The house is in a secluded, quiet and relaxing area and the views are outstanding. The owner is very helpful and accommodating. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant. We had a lovely time.
Disliked: If I want to be picky, we found the sofas in the living room uncomfortable.
A tranquil place for relaxing in the heart of the countryside in the foothills of the Pyrenees
Liked: The location was superb - wonderful views of the surrounding countryside, easy access to the main roads to take us to places like Besalu, Banyoles, Girona, Figueres and to the coast. However, we were enjoying a quiet time with our two dogs and they were able to roam free around the property, interacting with the owners' friendly dogs leaving me free to get on with my book! The pool area was lovely, with lounging chairs under the trees which I occasionally moved to the generous terrace to catch some rays! The village of Vilavenut is tiny, with a pretty church and the most amazing restaurant - El Brot - Gastromique Radical. We enjoyed a superb four course meal there and would recommend it to those who love fine dining, in a relaxed atmosphere. We would definitely visit again. Thanks to Joan for his hospitality and endless helpfulness.
Disliked: There are no shops within walking distance but that posed no problem, I enjoyed shopping at the hypermarket in Olot!
