Noisy apartment, uncomfortable and worn-out furniture, and an unreturned security deposit with no response from the host

Disliked: There was constant noise from children shouting outside, apparently from a nearby school or kindergarten. The sofa is very old and badly worn out. It sags so much that you have to sit down carefully to avoid hitting the hard wooden supports inside. It is extremely uncomfortable and potentially unsafe. The most disappointing part is that my security deposit still hasn’t been refunded after checkout. I contacted the property several times, but they have stopped responding to my messages. This is completely unacceptable and has seriously affected my overall impression of the stay.

Liked: The apartment has a very good location also for walking (Montjuic, Placa d'Espanya) and public transport to all other location. Kitchen is very well equipped and at least 3 supermarkets there are in vicinity. The host is professional. The welcome package exceptional (bottle of sparkling wine) coffee, etc.

  bad experience

Liked: Apartment is good and modern. Kitchen facilities are perfect. There are 2 balconies. Very quite location.

Disliked: Be ready to "pay" additionally some weekend check-in fee in amount of 30 eur (that is not mentioned anywhere). Be ready to surprise, that you agreed to have earlier check-in and when you are almost near apartment you will be said, that check in at 15:00 (but agent still came after negotiations). Be ready to pay deposit, but then after checkout each day during 5 days to ask from agent, when you will get it back. Apartment is good and modern (except toilet bowl location), but organization part is very poor and caused stress.

Very cosy appartment with a lovely terrace in a quiet neighborhood!

Liked: The host was great, we told him that we’re celebrating 30 years of marriage and he brought us champagne 🥹 The place is located very near the city center but in a quiet neighborhood. The apartment is very cute and cozy and for a great price compared to others we looked at. Plenty of space for a 4-person stay, one bedroom and a mountable sofa bed. The place is clean and has everything an apartment needs, and if you’re missing anything, the host will provide it.

Disliked: The fact that there is a 130€ cleaning fee and a 300€ deposit that you have to pay upfront makes the initial cost much higher than you initially expect. Also, there is an extra fee of 50€ or more if you check in after 10pm.
