Exceptional
Five stars to Patricia as a host…she was so friendly, helpful and informative
Liked: We were so lucky to find this gem. The room was large, the beds were great and the outdoor garden was adorable. The breakfast offered many choices and the seating area was cute with indoor and patio seating. Patricia went out of her way to help us with suggestions, maps and dining options.
Liked: Unique building with cool old elevator. Comfortable bed.
Disliked: No window that could be safely left open.
Unique Place to Stay
Liked: This is a unique place to stay in an old residence in a great neighbourhood full of bars and restaurants and within walking distance to buses and sights. It has a cute old fashioned 2 person elevator or 26 steps to climb. The staff were very friendly and their food recommendations were excellent.

Liked: Quiet boutique hotel close to sights transport and restaurants. Walking distance to most places we wanted to visit.A little haven in the middle of a safe neighbourhood. Room was very comfortable and clean. Aircon excellent.

Mold Problem! Terrible Service and Denied Refund! Do NOT stay here!
Liked: Do not, under any circumstances, stay at this hotel. We encountered a serious mold/moisture problem. We smelled mold immediately upon entering our first room and then discovered extensive visible mold along the bathroom ceiling/walls. We immediately requested another room, which the hotel provided, but within 5–10 minutes we noticed the same mold/mildew smell in the second room as well. We declined the second room and left the hotel without staying overnight. The front desk apologized, refunded the city tax we had paid, and indicated that the remainder of our stay would be refunded after we submitted the request through Expedia. We did exactly that, but the hotel subsequently denied the refund request. We have since made multiple attempts through Expedia and directly with the hotel to resolve the issue without success. We ultimately had to find another hotel at the last minute and pay for new accommodations. Terrible experience and extremely disappointing customer service. I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere. Photo of the visible mold from our original room attached.
