Fabulous
Disliked: **"No prepayment required" — but €95 was taken from my available funds before arrival!** I deliberately chose a more expensive booking option with payment at the property. My Booking.com confirmation clearly stated: **"No prepayment required."** Despite this, €95 became unavailable on my bank card on 9 October, two days before my arrival. The transaction was subsequently processed as a payment to Hostal Apolo. I had not cancelled my reservation. I arrived as planned and paid the remaining balance in cash. When I questioned the payment, the receptionist confirmed that the money had been taken and told me the transaction could not be reversed. I also had to specifically request a receipt, which was only provided later. What makes this particularly frustrating is that I paid extra specifically to avoid paying in advance. The unexpected loss of access to €95 affected my available funds. I subsequently experienced difficulties with an automatic bank payment and incurred an additional bank fee. **Why offer a more expensive "Pay at the property" option if guests cannot rely on the stated payment conditions?** I consider this payment practice misleading and unacceptable. Guests should be informed clearly and in advance if a substantial amount will be reserved or charged to their card. This experience seriously damaged my trust in Hostal Apolo.
