  Great option near the Gothic Quarter

  Liked: 24 hour staff available. Check in was a breeze and questions always answered with courtesy. The location is excellent. The room was well appointed. Very clean. Lots of outlets. Fantastic location to the old city - Gothic Quarter.

  Disliked: One person thought beds were firm. Others were fine. We had four in one room and it was room enough for all. We had only one bathroom so we juggled schedules and it was fine.

  Liked: It as nice hotel close to "La Barceloneta" and the "Gothic Quarter". The subway station is also a few blocks away. The room was little bit small, but if you are going to spend the day outside it is fine.

  Disliked: Overall, everything was fine, but I must point out that the hotel does not seem to take the security of guests’ personal data seriously enough. I was contacted by a scammer via WhatsApp who had the exact details of my reservation (date, time, room, and name) and asked me to make a payment. And yes, even as an IT professional, I fell for it. I can only imagine how many other guests could become victims of similar scams. This situation could potentially have been prevented if the hotel management had enforced better IT security practices to protect guests’ personal information. Just imagine what could happen if credit card details were also exposed

  We were extremely happy with this hotel

  Liked: 10/10 – An exceptional experience! The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and in a great location, but what truly made our stay special was the reception staff. They were exceptionally kind, welcoming, and helpful with every request. We had a small issue with the shower, and when we informed them, they handled it perfectly. While we went out for a walk, they moved us to a beautiful, clean, upgraded room, transferred all our belongings, and even left us champagne with a personal note written in Hebrew, our language. It was such a thoughtful and touching gesture. They also allowed us a late checkout at a very attractive price, which was incredibly convenient. We honestly couldn’t be happier that we chose Hotel Santa Marta. The level of service and attention exceeded all our expectations. Highly recommended — 10 out of 10!

  Good location and well presented

  Liked: Easy to get around either walking of using the hop on hop off bus. Many restaurants near by.

  Disliked: Noisy neighbours returning to their rooms at 2-3 am with our room next to the lift.

  Excellent location, but admin issues

  Liked: Great location, close to the city centre and Barceloneta Beach. The room itself was clean and very quiet, and the staff were pleasant and professional.

  Disliked: Two administrative issues put a slight dampener to our experience. After we’d already unpacked and changed, another guest was given a key to our room and walked in — a serious privacy and security concern. We had been mistakenly assigned the wrong room and were then required to repack our belongings and move to the correct room. We were also double-charged: our first night was prepaid, but at check-in we were charged for all four nights without that deduction. Staff didn’t catch the error; we only found it ourselves by checking our card statement. Lovely location and friendly staff, but these administrative failures affected our impression of the hotel.
