  Great location, but unfortunately the poor hygiene, repeated electricity issues, difficult check-in and suspected bedbug

  Liked: Location is excellent, but it ends there.

  Disliked: Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this accommodation, despite the location being excellent. It is in a very convenient area and the location was definitely one of the positives of the stay. However, our problems started immediately upon arrival. The agreed check-in time was 3:00 p.m., but nobody showed up and we could not get in touch with the host. We had to contact Booking.com Customer Service and ask them to intervene before someone eventually arrived to let us in. The general hygiene and cleanliness of the accommodation were also disappointing. I noticed other bugs/insects in the bathroom during our stay, which was very concerning. On top of this, we had no electricity in our room on multiple occasions, which was extremely inconvenient and made the stay even more uncomfortable. After leaving the property and returning home, I developed multiple bites all over my body. Based on their appearance, I am concerned that they may have been caused by bedbugs. I am now having to take precautions with my luggage and belongings because I am worried that I may have brought them home with me. Overall, although the location is great, the check-in experience, cleanliness issues, repeated electricity problems and suspected pest issue made the stay very stressful. I would strongly recommend that the property thoroughly addresses these issues before hosting further guests.

  Liked: Location was good 70km to the beach

  Disliked: Very basic accommodation. Bed was very uncofortable. If you stay anywhere. below the first floor security would be an issue. If staying above it is fine. Bedding was not changed during my 6 nights stay. Electric sockets are a death trap. No numbers on doors which woulnt help older guests. Lights in shared bathroom were always faulty..Booking.com you need to remove this place from your site.

  An accommodation that demands sending photos of personal documents to unknown WhatsApp numbers along

  Liked: What I can say about this accommodation is that it is in a great location, it is decently clean, and it offers good value for money.

  Disliked: However, my main issue is with the host running this property. First of all, only after booking (which might be my fault) did I realize that the host frequently cancels on guests at the last minute—and this hasn't happened just once or twice, but is a very common occurrence. I don't understand why Booking.com allows this on their platform, as it is clearly due to the host's negligence or sheer disrespect. Second, the host asked me to send photos of my ID to an unknown WhatsApp number. I only did this at the time because I was afraid I wouldn't get a refund, and as a student, I don't have spare money to book another place. I normally don't like sharing personal data this way, but regardless of my personal preference, this violates European and Spanish data protection laws as well as Booking.com's guidelines, so I will be reporting this to the competent authorities. The next problem is that the actual location of the accommodation does not match the one listed on the platform. The host seemingly enjoys giving guests the runaround across Benidorm before letting them in. He told me to meet at a location 10 minutes away from the property, only to text me after I arrived (and waited about 10 minutes) telling me to go to another spot near the accommodation, and only sent the actual address after another 10-minute wait at the new location—truly unbelievable. Finally, the smallest issue was that the keys to the main entrance didn't work because the lock was broken. I received no help from the host, who simply blamed drunk tourists for breaking it, so every single time I tried to enter, I had to spend about 5 minutes struggling with the lock before luckily getting in.

  Review this property urgently for hygiene and safety reasons

  Liked: This property should not be listed for bookings. The entire apartment smelt like a urinal. Bugs crawling around, smelt like unwashed old people had been staying there. There was no AC. The host plugged in a fan that had dust all over it. I will be contacting you further to claim a refund.

  Disliked: Everything. This property should not be listed for bookings. It needs to be reviewed ASAP. We didn’t feel thief. It had a very creepy atmosphere. The shape of the plug socket did not allow our UK adapters to fit. There was no Wi-Fi.
