Where to stay in the Valencian Community
Valencia
In Valencia, Ciutat Vella has the monuments and the atmosphere; Russafa has restaurants and nightlife; the area around the City of Arts and Sciences and Malvarrosa beach is quieter. The city combines beach and sightseeing well in a single trip.
Costa Blanca
The Costa Blanca, in the province of Alicante, has very different destinations: Benidorm with its skyscrapers and year-round buzz; Altea, Jávea and Dénia with coves and a calmer pace; and Alicante city with its castle and town beach. Winters are mild and there are plenty of apartments for long stays.
Castellón and inland
The Castellón coast (Peñíscola, Benicàssim, Oropesa) is more family-oriented. Inland, Morella and the villages of the Maestrazgo, or the Sierra de Mariola in Alicante, have rural places to stay for a break away from the beach.
