A wonderful oasis while while walking the Camino

Liked: An oasis in Caldas de Reis. Abosolutely stunning. Well appointed, well decorated, loved the library and book collection, super friendly and accommodating staff. Dayana did our check- in and she was simply amazing. The pool, the garden, the restaurant, common areas were beautiful. We could refresh ourselves in the pool after a long walk on the Camino. It’s off the Camino and I recommend to take a taxi from the main church ( Santo Tomás ) next to the tourist office you can find the taxi station. It’s 2km drive but uphill and next to the road. You won’t regret staying in this place. The pictures don’t do this place justice. It is simply beautiful.

    Disliked: Nothing to say.

Truly a gem, not to miss!!

Liked: Stunning hotel - it looks/feels way better in real than the photos. Beautiful gardens, natural pool, located right in the middle of nature (river Umia flows all around and through the hotel!). The building is also incredibly well kept and decorated. The staff was super nice, the breakfast buffet is one of the best I had in years - with many local/home products. Breathtaking views all around. Cant believe this only a 3star hotel - I guess it's maybe because it lacks some amenities (e.g lifts?). Strongly recommend, I will surely be back - ah super quiet as well, not many rooms/guests at all!

    Our Favorite Camino Portuguese Hotel

Liked: My wife absolutely loved this hotel. It looked nice when I booked it online, but I had no idea just how special it would be. Although our room was not large, it was beautifully decorated with historic charm, and the large windows overlooked the stunning grounds. After a long day of walking the Camino Portuguese, we had planned to simply rest in our room. Instead, we spent the afternoon relaxing beneath the shade of a magnificent tree and enjoying the peaceful setting. A river flows through the back of the property, and part of it has been channeled into a beautiful natural freshwater pool, making the grounds feel like a private retreat. Breakfast offered a smaller selection than some of the other hotels where we stayed, but everything was fresh and delicious, and the service was excellent. The only drawback is that the hotel is located a few miles outside Caldas de Reis, so it requires a short taxi ride to reach. Even so, the tranquil setting and exceptional atmosphere made it one of the highlights of our Camino. We would gladly stay here again.

Liked: Beautiful fairytale site. Loved the short stay and would have stayed longer if I could.

Disliked: The restaurant was ok. Nice food but not great. Previously Michelin rated but doubt they would be now.
