Liked: A traditional apartment overlooking the river. My Google maps directed me to the back of the property. Having to drag luggage back up flights of steps wasn't pleasant. On arrival, Cuencaloft suggests that the apartment was at the top of the building, no. The key fob has no name or apartment number, so short of ringing every bell, I was left to return to the agent to ask which apartment. I had tried to phone, but nobody answered. The agent then showed a video of the property and which door belonged to the apartment. When suggesting that she might have done this before and perhaps the key fob label should correspond to the name on the door, I received an apathetical shrug. Turns out, the loft apartment is in the basement! The apartment is reasonably located, with a steep but direct walk to Plaza Mayor and the highlights of the old town.

    Sewage smell and disrespectful staff

Liked: The location and view from the balcony

Disliked: The staff ignored our request for air freshener to make the bathroom smell better. The staff pretended us (guests) to go and get an air freshener to their office (?). At the end they agreed to bring it but never did. The apartment was cold due to this, we had to keep the windows open to reduce the sewage smell. There wasn’t any salt, vinegar or oil. There wasn’t a kettle to boil water. The soap dispenser in the bathroom was empty. The sheets for the sofa bed were too small for the sofa bed. The chairs are old and just about to break. There were more broken things (the night table light wasn’t working, night table door was broken). We told the hosts that it wasn’t a problem as we weren’t going to use them, but it added up after their attitude. The key collection was a pain, we had to ask the taxi driver to wait for us outside their office to do the check in through a machine, which took several minutes and requested a passport scan. The worst part was the indifference of the hosts, that’s why we don’t recommend this place. The apartment has potential, maybe changing the management will help?

Liked: I liked the location and views from the windows. The property had everything that you would need, especially the kitchen. Located in a nice traffic free position right in the old town, where you need to be and a short walk to the public car park called Mangana. You get a discount but it is about 16 euros for 24hrs. It's not cheap but it's worth it.

Disliked: When you arrive, you have to park your car, then walk to the rental agency to collect the key, then to your property. OK, unless it's really hot or raining, then it is a bit annoying. The WiFi was good but didn't work in the bedroom. Just move the router nearer, then it's fine, so l discovered myself after calling them out to fix it
