Good
Perfect hotel
Liked: The apartment was spacious, and the sofa and beds were comfortable. The linen were a good quality. Big towels. There are supplies in the bathroom that some hotels no longer offer. Separate shampoo and body soap, and body lotion. All in pumps, easy to use. They also had tissues in a box on the wall. There’s a coffee shop next door that has a great selection of food and good coffee.
Disliked: Nothing. They could add a little decor, to make it more appealing.
Lovely people, very local area
Liked: Staff were very helpful, even though they are physically present. Room was big and well equipped.
Disliked: For me the location was slightly further out than I had realised.
Stressful check-in, poor customer service and an uncomfortable sofa bed
Liked: The apartment was alright overall, and the location was reasonably okay for our trip. Unfortunately, the positive aspects were overshadowed by the extremely difficult check-in process and the poor customer service we experienced.
Disliked: The check-in process was extremely difficult and stressful. Despite having a reservation for three guests, we were not informed in advance that all guests had to be physically present to complete the self-check-in process at the kiosk. This caused significant delays and unnecessary stress upon arrival. When we submitted a formal complaint afterwards, the management was dismissive, unhelpful and rude, seemingly placing the blame on us rather than acknowledging the lack of clear communication and the difficulties we experienced. Contacting staff was extremely difficult, and the on-site security staff were also unhelpful when we needed assistance. The apartment also had flickering lights, and the third bed provided for our reservation was a sofa bed that was exceptionally uncomfortable — one of the worst I have ever slept on. Overall, the lack of communication, the stressful check-in, the unhelpful staff and the uncomfortable sleeping arrangements made our stay disappointing. Better preparation, clearer information before arrival and a more professional approach to handling complaints would have made a significant difference.

Liked: I have very fond memories of my stay at Hesperia Sant Joan. The property is located in a quiet, peaceful and safe residential area, with good transport connections to central Barcelona. The apartment was clean and comfortable, and the beds were perfect for a good night's rest after a day of sightseeing. The staff were especially kind, friendly and helpful. I would happily stay here again!
Disliked: There were just a couple of minor things that could be improved. It would have been nice to have a few small plates in the apartment, even just three dessert plates. I was also a little surprised that our table, which had a handy shelf, was replaced without any prior notice or explanation. These were small inconveniences and did not affect our overall positive experience.

If you wish, you can hire an additional towel change service for €8 per change, VAT included.
