Liked: Hotel moderno, habitaciones muy bonitas espaciosas y limpias, personal encantador y muy buena relación calidad-precio.

Liked: The views, the big rooms, the high ceilings, the bed.
Disliked: The breakfast: it was hard to find anyone to ask for coffee in the morning and it was ridiculously expensive.

Liked: Astonishing views from our junior suit with views. Food is amazing both for dinner and breakfast, and attention of the personnel to the detail is fantastic.

Liked: It’s an interesting building in a lovely position with great views. Inside everything looked lovely.
Disliked: Essentially this is a restaurant with rooms; the focus being on the foodie experience. Unfortunately we didn’t know that, when making a short notice booking and felt €35 each for breakfast excessive. Tasting menu for dinner was about €110 each. Air con is controlled centrally, rooms were minimally furnished so no table, very small shower room with insufficient hanging space. No complimentary water. The ‘look’ outweighs the utility of the room so you ‘pays your money and takes your choice.’ If the food experience is your thing then it’s a good place to stay. Staff didn’t have any info about walks/hiking in the area which was disappointing.

Our evening was equally unforgettable. We surrendered ourselves to a beautifully crafted tasting menu, perfectly guided by sommelier Stefan, whose wine pairings elevated every course. Under the direction of award-winning chef Nacho Solana, each dish celebrates the richness of local, seasonal ingredients with creativity and respect for tradition. Nestled in the heart of the Parque Natural de las Marismas de Santoña, Victoria y Joyel, surrounded by green mountains and the Cantabrian Sea, Hotel Pico Velasco is a destination where architecture, nature, and cuisine come together in perfect harmony. A place that reminds us that true luxury lies in authenticity and attention to detail.
Perfect last night to my trip
Liked: Lovely location, fantastic building, friendly and attentive staff. Fantastic small hotel with 11 rooms in the countryside, 45 minutes from Bilbao, very tranquil. The food served in the bar was very good and the gastronomic breakfast in the restaurant was worth every penny. The room was spacious and clean with a fantastic view. Sat outside on the terrace for hours just watching the world go by....
