A beautiful country historic Mansion with a superb atmosphere, rooms and staff

Liked: We love the total atmosphere of this property. Set on acres of country land, the beautiful Mansion with its beautiful rooms, amazing decore and great attentive people to look after you. At the same time, it is homely and intimate

Disliked: There was nothing to dislike

Treat yourself. It’s a special place

Liked: Such a wonderful property. Dates back to the 1600s. A few km off the CAMINO but completely worth it. Just call the house and Noya (excuse the name spelling) will organise to pick you up in town and drop you back in the morning. So enjoyed the rest, the sauna after a long walk and the excellent food which was only only surpassed by the genuine welcome.

    Disliked: Nothing

Not described well or scent-free but a unique, serene venue with a manor full of Indian art

Liked: I liked the idea of the property being rustic, on a farm and pick-up from the city of Palai de Rei. The accommodation was clean and unique with a little alcove with cushions and thankfully, separate from the Manor. The chapel was quaint. Dinner (not included) was excellent and served in a dining room with other guests but is not "family style". Host and staff were personable and kind. It was peaceful.

Disliked: I am scent-sensitive, so when I entered the main building where the "amenities" are, I didn't appreciate the heavy smell of incense. I understood when the Indian host appeared. On that note, the "manor" was appointed with Indian artifacts, not expexted while on the Camino. The only rustic things were the location and some animals. The "spa" (steam room, jacuzzi, etc.) were not open. Rather remote if staying more than one night.

Great find in Palas de Rei, with superb service

Liked: The hotel is really nice and the rooms and bathrooms are spacious, and the beds are comfortable. Additionally, the rooms have AC with is also a plus in this area as some hotels in El Camino don't have it. We also enjoyed the prairie outdoors views from our room. Since we stayed in the hotel during our stop in Palas de Rei, finding a gym with foot massage was a wonderful bonus. However, the best of all was the hospitality of the staff. There was super proactive and responsive to all our needs, from express laundry service to a home made chamomile tea for my upset stomach, they really made us feel at home. Also the hotel transportation to and from town in the new Tesla was wonderful. Thanks so much!

Disliked: The only thing to be mindful about this hotel is the fact that there is a distance away from Palas de Rei, which might be an issue particularly if you are planning to explore the town or spend time with other pilgrims. In our case, we didn't have plans to go out so it worked perfectly and the hotel included the transportation to and from town in a very nice new Tesla: )
