  Enjoyable and relaxing which is exactly what we wanted

  Liked: The staff were great and the pool kept my daughter happy. Although the beach is are 1000m away, we did not mind the walk.

  Disliked: Sap from the trees meant that we needed to clean our car before we left which took around 40 minutes. The camp staff did provide us with a product to help us, but it was still annoying. The easy answer to this is to take something to cover the car with.

  Camping Caledonia is overpriced for what you get

  Liked: Tamarit Beach is spectacular.

  Disliked: This property is not accessible to shops or restaurants by foot. It is situated right next to the highway and it is a 30 minute walk through forest and marshlands to arrive at the beach, including areas where you have to walk through puddles to cross areas of the path. The Lanai cabin was also dirty on our arrival with broken glass, dog hair and dust under the couch and hair on the floor. Communal areas were also very scrubby and not regularly cleaned - lots of build up of dust, hair and cigarette butts around the reception area. The pool is very over crowded for the amount of people in the campsite, including the caravan residents who seem to be housed permanently on the sight.. the lounge chairs need to be cleaned - they look like they all need to be hosed down as they are all covered in dry sweat and suncream marks. The issue with this establishment is not the layout or facilities, but we feel there is not enough cleaning staff or ground staff and so the ones that are working are extremely pressed for time to clean many many many bungalows and areas. This is a management issue, not the staff. For nearly 250 euros a night, there isn’t really any excuse - you need to hire more staff. The restaurant area is also not suitable for families as there is a constant plume of cigarette smoke lingering around in the eating areas and children’s games room. We tried to check out earlier, and the reception said we could, but when we requested the same on the booking.com chat portal to ensure we would actually get refunded, they point blank ignored us, despite following up several times. We then felt we could not take the risk of a handshake promise for getting a refund and so we chose to stay to the end. If we had paid half of what we paid we would have let it slide, but we feel like it’s our duty to warn other travellers.. They are clearly trying to max out on profit in the high demand season and taking short cuts to get there.

  Very good!

  Liked: Accommodation & Service The bungalow was exceptionally clean upon arrival. When I accidentally reported that I had stained the sofa, the staff's focus wasn't on the damage or fees, but rather on whether I wanted a replacement—such wonderful and understanding customer service! In fact, the service from everyone across the board was top-notch, from the reception team to the convenient shuttle service that takes you straight to the beach. Activities & Entertainment * Daytime: The monitors and animation team were fantastic, keeping everyone engaged and active during the day. * Adults: The adult entertainment was brilliant, featuring great music and high-quality performances. The campsite truly has everything you could possibly need on-site, for example: * Supermarket * Restaurant * Kids' park * Even a dedicated area to wash your car!

  Disliked: The noise from the nearby motorway, which carried over and noticeably affected our sleep at night. And the lack of entertainment at night for kids.

  Nice family break with teenagers

  Liked: The park is well located for Park Aventura, Barcelona and Tarragona. Excellent beaches are a short walk away Kids loved the pool and the poolside entertainment Staff were friendly and helpful, even when the language barrier was in place. Reception staff spoke very good English and were helpful when asked. Although we checked out at 11:00, we were allowed to stay for the afternoon and use the facilities at no extra charge.

  Disliked: Although everywhere was very clean - rubbish and recycling bins were emptied regularly and there was very little litter evident. The property we rented seemed a bit tired and in need of modernisation. For the price we paid, I would have expected more.. But, as I said, cleanliness wasn't an issue and the property catered for our basic needs.
