  Great location and views, friendly staff, but some maintenance issues need attention

  Liked: Excellent location right on the seafront, friendly and welcoming staff, and a beautiful view from the window.

  Disliked: Poor maintenance and cost-cutting on things that shouldn’t be neglected, such as a broken shower hose, an ill-fitting toilet seat, and other minor issues. These are inexpensive fixes that would cost less than a night’s stay, yet they noticeably detract from the overall experience.

  Liked: great location, nice and small hotel. Friendly staff and easy check in.

  Disliked: Noise from the outside. One window led to inner "patio", so you could hear the neighbours. With the window closed it was better and doable

  Avoid in summer, especially room 302

  Liked: I was in town for medical care and it was close enough to go for blood analysis without driving.

  Disliked: Uncomfortable room with broken air conditioning unit, when I contacted about it the reply was that maybe I could have a smaller room with functioning AC at the same price but after the receptionist contacted management they said that the room I selected didn't come with AC so no. Although it is possible for some hotels to keep a room comfortable without AC that isn't the case for room 302. It was sweltering upon arrival. I went to ask the receptionist how to turn the AC on and he indicated a remote control, but it just blew warm air. I napped with it 'on' (snowflake, 16 degrees - not!) and awoke drenched in sweat. Other aspects of the room were generally kind of shabby: gray paint over tile in bathroom, not a single piece of art hanging, a white plastic chair at the desk, lock missing from the safe box provided, unpatched walls where it looks like a luggage rack used to be. I wasn't able to check in upon arrival because the room wasn't ready. There isn't a single chair in the lobby to sit in while waiting for the cleaning staff to finish. The reception hours are limited so you can't drop off a bag early and have it in a secure area. (The door was propped open with no one working the desk when I arrived and the main door code is as guessable as it gets.) Messages about making environmental choices as a guest (reduce water usage etc.) seem ironic given that they air condition the lobby with the front door open on the ground floor level. I might have been willing to overlook some of these things but I was so hot and uncomfortable I couldn't even be under the covers of the bed. The plug didn't hold water in the bath to cool down either. When I opened the balcony door in the evening to try to cool the room I got all of the noise and smoke from the bar below and/or neighbors' balconies nearby. It was just a miserable stay overall.
