Liked: The hotel greeting was certainly unique — mainly because it involved almost complete silence. The attendant did show us where to put our bikes in the hotel garage, communicating with the absolute minimum of words. So minimal, in fact, that we nicknamed him “Lurch” from The Addams Family. The surprises continued with our “real-time” discovery that the toilet-roll dispenser was completely empty. Fortunately, the rolls had not disappeared altogether; they were thoughtfully stashed behind the toilet. It was around this point that we began to notice the many creative home-repair attempts made to the fixtures in our room. One could only admire the ingenuity, if not necessarily the workmanship. All that said, the location was good — which, in the end, was probably the hotel’s strongest feature.
