Upper town and cathedral
In the upper town, between the cathedral and the steep streets down to the centre, there are guesthouses, small hotels and pilgrim hostels. It is the most atmospheric area and everything is within walking distance, although with slopes and steps.
Centre and Place du Breuil
Around Place du Breuil and the Jardin Henri Vinay there are city hotels and restaurants. It is a flat area, near the Musée Crozatier, from which you can walk up to the cathedral in a few minutes.
Aiguilhe
To the north, Aiguilhe has quiet places to stay at the foot of the Saint-Michel pinnacle. You are a walk from the centre, with slightly easier parking.
Espaly-Saint-Marcel and outskirts
To the west, Espaly-Saint-Marcel and the roads out of town have modern hotels with parking, practical if you travel by car. In the Velay villages, towards Polignac, there are rural houses and chambres d’hôtes.
