  Simple and straightforward

  Liked: It was very basic, but that was the point. Everything worked, the service was just right, and I had no problems, except that the batteries in the remote control needed changing (though I wasn't that bothered about watching it).

  Good location and quiet

  Liked: Location near the train station was great as I planned trip to Paray-le-Monial. And there is not noise whatsoever.Close to the centre as well. A little further to the Flixbus bus station however 25 min. walk is not that much (not with suitcase of course) but there is a tram stop opposite train station. The facilities of the hotel are a bit outdated, but bathroom was ok and clean. There was not air-condition in my room just fun and it was enough.

  Disliked: Curtain on the window can't be pulled completely because of "broken" curtain rod.

  Disliked: **Beware if you are staying here during hot weather.** Our experience at Hotel de Normandie was extremely uncomfortable and ultimately unacceptable. We stayed the first night despite the room being unbearably hot. By the following day, the temperature inside our room was approximately **40°C (104°F)**, with no effective air conditioning or adequate way to cool the room. The situation became serious enough that my daughter was becoming faint from the heat. At that point, we were not willing to risk our family's health simply because we had already paid for the room. We packed our belongings, left the hotel, and had to pay for another hotel with functioning air conditioning for the second night. To be fair, we are not even requesting a refund for the first night that we endured. We are only asking to be refunded for the second night because the room was simply not usable. Travelers should be aware of this before booking, particularly during the summer. A hotel room reaching around **40°C is not just uncomfortable — it can become a legitimate health and safety concern**, especially for children, older guests, or anyone sensitive to heat. We would not stay here again and strongly recommend confirming that your room has **effective, functioning air conditioning** before booking during warm weather.
