Good
Liked: The staff is helpful. The place are cozy.
Disliked: We didn't expect so many steps up the hill. It wouldn't be a great idea to bring big luggage to the room. We came at stormy night so it's kinda windy and very dark to see all the road on the hill.
Liked: The breakfast was amazing. The hotel is located on a small island, so naturally, space was limited. However, the staff really went out of their way to help us get the right number of beds.
Nice 2 level suite not so easy to reach
Liked: There were a lot of small flies - mosquito nets will be very useful. Location requires a lot of fitness, especially with luggage. The view is excellent and the size of the suite is generous.
Disliked: See above. The absence of the nets did not allowed opening of the windows at night and it was too hot in the suite. In winter should be fine.
Amazing location, great bedroom, nice breakfast, friendly staff kept our luggage after checkout
Liked: Good hotel room, large as it's old building, but inside doesn't feel old at all. There was nice Gluten Free stuff available for breakfast, though it may not be coeliac safe since it's a buffet.
Disliked: It's not unexpensive, breakfast was great but gluten-free stuff didn't seem to be coeliac safe (that's a tall order).
Great views but so-so room
Liked: Excellent views from the windows. Included breakfast was better than expected. There was a mini-fridge in the room. Shout out to Paul for his great help.
Disliked: Our room request was granted via email. However, when we got there, the room was already taken. Bed not very comfortable. Cleanliness of the room was so-so.
Liked the breakfast but hated the room
Liked: The location was incredible, to be able to stay on the island and experience Mont St Michel in the calmness was nice. Just remember that this place isn't that big, you could explore the whole thing in a couple of hours. Breakfast was also very good, probably the best part of the hotel, on their 2nd floor dining room. Staying here also allowed us to be first in line at the abbey which is an advantage.
Disliked: I would say that we were very disappointed in the room, it was old (which is okay) but it was not well cleaned with dirty carpeting and there is a moldy musty smell to the room. We left both windows open to air out. We also wore out shoes and not walk barefoot. Nothing extra was provided and the shampoo bottle in the shower was emptied. We stayed on a Tuesday in October and in a double room at the Ermitage (be ready for climbing). There was no view and the pictures during booking really led you to believe that you would at least see some roofline. Most shown pictures represent their best rooms, I believe. Again, all would have been good if it was at least clean. I would not have booked here (for the price paid) if I had seen the picture. Also, Mont St Michel is pretty much accessible all the time now.
