  Disliked: Room No. 6 is located practically right next to the dining area; from early morning, you can hear people coming in for breakfast—loud conversations and the scraping of chairs. There was a major plumbing issue in the room; on the very first night, the shower drain was backing up. On the second night, the bathroom floor flooded, with the water spreading all the way into the sleeping area. To their credit, after we reported the situation, we were moved to an upstairs suite—that was a big plus. However, there were unpleasant incidents there, too. We went out to explore Bergamo and left our room key in the designated lockbox. Unfortunately, when we returned, our room was unlocked! Nothing went missing, of course, but I find such situations unacceptable. Another reason for my negative rating is how we were treated on the second night (Sunday): after a power outage, the access code we had received via email from the owners before our arrival stopped working. The code was supposed to be valid for the entire duration of our stay. Yet, when we returned from the city at 8:00 PM, the code didn't work, so we couldn't get into the hotel. The emergency contact number provided for urgent issues and breakdowns was switched off. I decided to send an SMS asking what to do; I didn't receive a reply until 1:00 PM the next day—when I was already on my way to the airport—containing an apology, an explanation of why the code had failed, and a question asking if we had managed to get into the hotel! Overall, Bergamo is beautiful, but I’d recommend thinking twice about staying at this place; you might not even be able to get into the hotel in the event of a power outage, and the owners don't answer the phone. I paid €266 and regret every single cent.
