  Best hotel on our trip in Europe...don't miss out trying the restaurants!

  Liked: This hotel was excellent. Small but very lovely. Big comfortable rooms. Excellent bed. Staff were amazing and there restaurants were the best in upper Bergamo hands down. One of our best stays ever.

  Citta Alta location with drawbacks

  Liked: The welcome that we were given upon arrival. The staff member carried our suitcases upstairs for us, explained the property and provided us with a welcome bottle of sparkling wine. The breakfast was reasonable, with the usual items that you would expect at a continental hotel breakfast. Each morning, a staff member offered to cook scrambled eggs and served us with soft drinks or hot drinks. The room decor is rustic, with a wardrobe, dresser space and three chairs. There is also a smart TV which you can log into streaming services on.

  Disliked: The bathroom stank. There was a smell of rotten drains that permeated the bathroom. We reported this to the staff, who did send someone to address the problem on the same day. Unfortunately, the effect that the remedy had was minimal. The extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work to any great effect, leaving the bathroom damp and towels wet until the room was cleaned. The bed was too soft, meaning that we awoke with sore backs and shoulders most mornings during our stay. Due to the location of the room (overlooking the street), if we left the window open then it was very noisy until 11pm to 12 midnight. The room shares a common area with two other neighbouring apartments; the walls were thin and the locks for the room were noisy due to being metal locks with metal keys and a heavy metal keyring attached.

  Liked: We liked everything about this place: location, cleanliness, friendly and accommodating staff. They went out of their way to accommodate our stay, making us feel like we are not at a hotel, but visiting family.
