  Air conditioning didn't work - room a sauna, staff didn't help

  Liked: The bald man who checked us in was quite funny and friendly. The hotel is modern and clean enough. Unfortunately, the main thing with a hotel is the quality of sleep, and ours was virtually nil. We were given a room, which we checked into late, where the air conditioning didn’t really work. Despite complaining to reception about this, they insisted they would try to fix it instead of moving us to another room. By that point it was around 2 a.m., so there wasn’t much point arguing. The room only cooled by around three degrees overnight, meaning the temperature shown on the AC unit was still hovering around 30°C. This made for a very uncomfortable night’s sleep. For that reason, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Also, the area is a little bit dodgy, but if you’re staying in Caserta, you probably know that already.

  Liked: The personnel was extremely nice without exceptions. We were given very large rooms. The position, very close to the train station and the royal palace, is a plus.

  Disliked: The water in the shower was just lukewarm. Breakfast offers a huge variety of sweet options, but could be improved on the savoury side, for example with some salads and vegetables.
