Fabulous
A warm welcome in a clean building with easy access to city centre
Liked: Great location to visit the palace. The welcome and interaction with Raffaele was 10/10 - I felt very welcomed and well looked after.
Disliked: Very hot during heatwave, air con was not 100% effective.
Disliked: We had difficulty with check in, the owner didn’t get my email with time of arrival. There was another couple in a room off the living room area we didn’t know about until they walked out and through the area we were staying
We wont be back
Liked: We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite for three nights, the location was the best part of our stay as we were attending a concert at the palace. The apartment was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Good restaurants close by.
Disliked: The description of the property did not live up to the reality. The promised kitchen was out of bounds and we had to ask for a kettle. Minimal supplies provided, one toilet roll, two tiny pods of body wash, no soap for washing hands. The promised "exceptional breakfast" was at a nearby cafe and was very basic, where on two occasions we were charged for food that should have been included. To his credit, our host reimbursed the money. The WiFi was hopeless.
Unfortunately it was not what I had paid for and very disappointing
Liked: The location is great. Lots of bars, restaurants and shopping in walking distance. When I advised the woman who checked us in that the room was not as advertised and that there wasn’t even soap in the bathroom, she came over first thing in the morning to speak with us.
Disliked: The rat traps in the entryway were discomforting. Our room was not as described in the confirmation received. Stated there was a coffee machine, dining table, toiletries, sitting area. There was no coffee machine, no dining table, no seating area and no toiletries. There wasn’t even soap in our room. Good thing we had brought our own shower gel we could use for soap. The furnishings were ratty and worn.
Exceptional
Good
Liked: Location, location, location. Literally one block from the entrance to the Caserta palace, and in an old neighborhood with lots of restaurants and cafes. Our second best dinner in Italy was at the restaurant across the street.
Disliked: The hose on the shower handle had a gushing hole, which was reported to the host but not fixed during our two-day stay. Parking our rental car overnight was 23 euros, double what the private underground lot operators -- not related to the host -- told us initially.
