  The walls are falling, the bed was dirty and the area is a no go with children

  We enjoyed learning more about city living in Catania

  Liked: There was a lot of great attention to detail inside the apartment (inside an old church that is no longer in service.) There was even a couple of types of packaged bread, wine, and bottled water.

  Disliked: Parking on the street wasn't easy, and there was garbage outside on the sidewalks. Bedroom close to noisy neighbors, but it is life in the neighborhood. An interesting adventure!

  Liked: The apartment is large, clean, tidy and well-equipped. It's walking distance to the city center and train station.

  Disliked: Streets around are dirty, but in Catania as in some other cities in south Italy, this part can be improved.

  Very nice place

  Liked: The host was very kind and flexible, apartment is well equipped. Great location, just 10min walk from the center.

  Disliked: Bath was not working. There is another guest house nearby where too much noise during the night but can be survived with an earplug.

  Liked: We stayed for 4 nights. The place is great and clean. The two rooms are big and spacious. The kitchen has everything you need. The host was quick to response. For the breakfast you have a asortiman of packed sweets, jam and croissants.

  Disappointing and Frustrating

  Liked: The location was good for an easy walk into the city centre.

  Disliked: It was as cold as a tomb when we arrived. All shutters closed and no effort to make it welcoming. It took 24hrs with the heating full on to make it warm. Very basic long life bread etc and no fruit provided. Only six muffins for 2 people for 4 days? No milk as host had “forgotten”??? We thought we had rented the whole apartment as described but apparently to use the other bedroom was a charge of €25. Also, the spa bath( it’s NOT a Hot Tub or Jacuzzi!!) was an extra €40 and again the host “forgot” to tell us or assumed that we already knew. He changed his mind to suit. The balcony is not to sit on, but to admire the building rubble and scaffolding left in the courtyard. Do not expect any views. There was soft drinks and beer and wine available in the fridge, but for extra charge. The Sprite was 2 weeks out of date already. Shower was tiny and dirty, not good if you are slightly more than average size, with hair and things in the plug hole. No soap or shampoo as the dispensers were all empty, but there was a decent supply of other peoples left over products for you to choose from, including opened toothpaste and unbranded liquid? Many laminated notices of instructions of rules including the daily rubbish and recycling regime that you are asked to follow. Very disappointing from beginning to end.
