  A fantastic, budget-friendly stay in the heart of Catania with a wonderfully welcoming host

  Liked: Exceptional Stay in Catania! I had a wonderful stay at this property. The owner, Valentina, is a very friendly and welcoming host who speaks surprisingly good English, making communication smooth and easy. The location is excellent—it is centrally located and well within walking distance of all the main sights, shops, and restaurants. Everything was convenient, comfortable, and easygoing. I highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Catania!

  Disliked: I don't have any complaints, but guests should come with realistic expectations for buildings like these. It’s a budget-friendly pension set inside a historic building, so it comes with the charming quirks you’d expect from a place of its age. Navigating the halls and stairs in the dark and looking for the light switches takes a little getting used to, these are entirely normal aspects for this type of accommodation that any experienced traveler will take in stride. The only thing I’d highlight is that because of the stairs, it may not be suitable for elderly travelers or anyone with mobility issues—I wouldn't stay here if traveling with older family members, for example. Otherwise, for standard independent travelers looking for a great, cost-effective spot, it’s a fine choice!

  Over priced and bad smelly ugly street tons of graffiti on every door and wall!

  Liked: Room was spacious. Thank goodness air conditioning worked! Air not in both rooms was told air conditioner can cool Both rooms. Valentina very nice and helpful.

  Disliked: I did not like all the graffiti on the doors and walls outside on the street. Very old inside chipped walls photos on sight do not reflect what room actually looks like. Old bedding uncomfortable bed not like the pretty vibrant photos on the website. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. And to boot came home to disgusting cockroach in the bathroom. When I sent a message about it I was told not to leave bathroom window open. I mean seriously no windows were open it was 100 degrees outside. It was the bait and switch for sure!

  Liked: The location was excellent, and Valentina, who works there, was incredibly helpful. Thanks to her, our stay was exceptional. There is a cheap supermarket nearby, and the accommodation is located in the city center. It also has good connections to Taormina and Syracuse. The only downside was the bus to the beach (Line D). Unfortunately, it did not follow the timetable, which made getting to and from the beach inconvenient.
