Exceptional
Friendly helpful staff!
Liked: The staff were great. Friendly. Welcoming. Helpful. I was feeling nauseous after a rough plane landing and they were all very sweet to me when we checked in and again the next morning. Rooms were spacious and clean. Bed comfortable. Breakfast had a larger selection of items than I expected. Appreciated the fresh whole seasonal fruit. Coffee was good and there were a few types of tea to choose from. Liked the access system all electronic so no worrying about who has the key.
Disliked: Nothing. All good.
Great hospitality in a central and spotlessly clean hotel
Liked: What an amazing find in Catania! I loved staying at this wonderful hotel - from the welcome I received upon arrival right up to checkout, I really felt at home. There are 100s of options in Catania and I honestly think Hotel Trieste might be the best (I don't understand the 1* rating as my room was big, had everything I needed and was spotlessly clean). The location is fantastic-central, safe and within easy walking distance to the areas of interest in Catania and the bus/train station. Don't be put off by any fears of noise - I stayed over a weekend and it wasn't noisy in the rooms at all. Breakfast was excellent and served with a smile and a chat! I loved that the hotel recommended local restaurants each within a few minutes' walk - they were all excellent. One of the stand out features of the hotel was the staff: always there to help with queries (even helping with booking tours) and always with a smile and a chat. Thanks especially to Lorenzo, Alessia and Marco who are wonderful ambassadors for the hotel and for Sicilian hospitality. I'd have no hesitation in recommending Hotel Trieste to anyone and look forward to staying there again!
Disliked: Nothing. It was all perfect!
Stayed 9 nights in the single occupancy room, at this property in the historic center of Catania
Liked: Excellent location - walking distance to almost all the attractions; many restaurants and bars close by; around the corner is the Bellini Theatre and piazza: a 5 minute walk to Piazza del Duomo, University of Catania (founded in 1434), Fish Market and Via Etnea (main historic boulevard and shopping street). Very friendly and extremely helpful owner, his two sons and the staff. The covered stone terrace is a beautifully decorated outdoor space for the hotel guests to enjoy. Room - excellent cleanliness, very comfortable bed, mini fridge, kettle and tea bags, air conditioner and a spacious bathroom. Plenty of choices for breakfast - fresh fruits, yogurt and a variety of sweet and savory foods. Considering that I stayed in the single occupancy room which does not have a balcony, I still highly recommend staying here, if you are a solo traveller.
We loved the hotel and Laura was especially patient, kind, and welcoming. She is a real asset
Liked: We didn't know there was a breakfast offered.
Disliked: Gate to get in and out of parking was a little tight
Liked: The hotel is in a great location. Close to everything but not directly in it. It's about a 15 minute walk to the bus and train station. The staff was welcoming! The history of the building is super interesting. I also liked getting the surprise gift when we checked out.
Great place and close to bus/train stations, restaurants and sites
Liked: The staff are very helpful and the location is perfect. The room was spacious with a small balcony. I loved the technology that keeps the site secure
Disliked: Nothing
