Fabulous
A good place for a short stay
Liked: Very good staff, available 24/7 and willing to help if they can. The (family) room had all we needed for an overnight. Beds were comfortable. Facilities were good enough
Disliked: As many reviews say, it’s a long climb with bags to the rooms (56+ steps) so just be aware of that. It’s an old building, maybe many others are like it. It is clean and in good repair but maybe some modernising would help lift it. Adjacent majn tourist street is very handy but also noisy until late evening.
La Collegiata is a place where one would like to come back, always. We recommend it
Liked: The location of the property is perfect. All attractions are within walking reach. The building looks historical and that is what attracted us to stay when booked it. The only inconvenience we found was the stairs that needed walked up and down. But that provided us with exercising opportunity.
Disliked: I liked the cleanness, the sense of old and well preserved building. The staff was amazing, very helpful to the very end. Even carrying our luggage’s down the stairs when leaving. I also enjoyed the 24- hours availability
Excellent location and has character
Liked: Excellent location. The rooms have really high ceiling and the street below is not noisy. Dont be deceived by the entrance - it is a nice building with the character

Booked the room for its location, value, and price. Got what I paid for. Functional large room
Liked: Location. Value. Price. Staff. Size of room was quite large.
Disliked: Toilet did not work quite properly when flushing, plus the smell from the sewage backed into the bathroom. Poorly lit room, both with respect to natural sunlight and in-room lighting.
Liked: Fantastic views from street side rooms.
Disliked: Bathroom a little tight.
The friendliest hotel
Liked: This the friendliest hotel I have ever stayed in. Run by a wonderful team of women, nothing is too much trouble. Even though the breakfasts are very large (fresh fruit salad, ham and cheese, toast, two pastries, freshly squeezed blood orange juice, and coffee), they insisted on giving me a cannolo as well. All served with great good humour. The rooms are very clean and there is air conditioning. My room overlooked a quiet inner courtyard. The location could not be more central, just off Via Etnea, Catania's main street. I would love to come back here!
