Exceptional
Liked: Very suitable for our two day stop at Catania. The owner is really friendly and promised to fix little issues which were of no concern to us though.
Good Location in Catania
Liked: Very good Location - 5 min to bus station, 10/15 min walk to city center or Lidl. Helpful host - early access to apartment, bottle of wine, sweets on table, when needed - approaching the noisy neighbors.
Disliked: We stayed 5 nights/2 people. There were 5 caps for the coffee machine and no caps for the washing machine. There is just 1 window in this apartment in the bathroom - no fresh air, and a bad smell. There were noisy neighbors and I had to ask them to stop at 3:30 am. The bedroom is under the bathroom of neighbors and you hear running water. On photos you can see the front door and bathroom window - the only sources of fresh air.
Value for money but some issues. Get what you pay for
Liked: The property is close to station and good value for money. The host was very helpful. A nice bottle of wine and pasties as a welcome gift was appreciated.
Disliked: The property was located in a less desirable area of town. We would not feel comfortable venturing out at night on foot. There were quite a few vagrant looking people around and we walked through an area of "working girls" to get to the mini market. The shower cubicle size was sill small and would be a challenge, if not impossible, for a bigger person. We had to sleep with earplugs due to noise from the apartment above making noise until 2 am. There are no windows other than a glass panel door into an access alley. The description says a "courtyard view" which turned out to be an access alley. There is no courtyard as we would expect.
Liked: The location is perfect, near the main station and close to the city center. The apartment itself is very cozy. Great communication with the host 🥰 Would strongly recommend this place!
Good choice for a stay in Catania
Liked: The appartment is in close proximity to the city center as well as to the traffic hub. Still in a quiet area with noices in good distance. Communication with the host is easy, you feel welcomed, bottle of wine was a pleasant gesture. We felt safe in the place and in the area. The appartment is right behind the front door of the building. Safety is ensured by locked entrance gate from the street, so you can let fresh air in through the door as there is no window.
Disliked: There was mould in the shower. Otherwise the appartmen is very clean. We would appreciate an option not having to share single blanket (not all guests are couples). Soft mattresses is just a warning for those who prefer hard ones (all backachers). Despite small things to improve the choice was good and we were happy to stay there.
Liked: The apartment is in an excellent location, everything is close to the city center and the Catania terminale for connections to the airport and other cities. The apartment itself is great, and the host is amazing, very helpful throughout the entire stay. 10/10.
