Very good
Excellent location, nice host, great value for money
Liked: The location is superb - 2 mins from Poseidon Lido and the free beach zone. 10 mins from the old town, the sea-view restaurants are very close and the food was better than anything we ate at the old town. The apartment is on the ground floor which saves you climbing steep stairs. There were umbrellas and sand toys. The owner is very helpful and replies almost immediately to any questions you might have.
Disliked: Nothing
Clean enough, ok for the price paid, very close to Cefalu beach
Liked: Location is great. Very close to the beach and cafes and restaurants. Only a short walk. Host communicated well and met us onsite.
Disliked: It felt basement like, the carpark it’s located in was noisy day and night - not the fault of the host. Bath towels were tiny, the kitchen had no coffee maker, dish soap or clean sponges so dishes felt dirty. The electricity flicked off twice while using the washing machine. There was no available parking so we had to pay $50 euros to park nearby. The unit has more potential. It is basic but does the job.
Liked: The location is superb, very close to the coast. It's on the ground floor, making it very convenient with luggage. There's also parking available. The room includes a living room and kitchen; we cooked two steak meals there. There was wine in the refrigerator, which was perfect for drinks during the meals.
Disliked: I can hear noises outside the window when I try to sleep at night.
It was bad
Liked: It was located close to the sea, the old town & train station. The heat did work well.
Disliked: The pictures were deceiving. The kitchen was not well equipped. Just the bare minimum. The coffee pot was so rusted when you poured water out of it, it was brown. The sofa had a cheap throw on it because it is ripped. Bumped up against it was what I guess would be a single bed. Looked more like a college dorm. The sheets were cheap. The towels were small, cheap and rough. The shower has flimsy plastic doors with broken handle. Shower has mold. Toilet seat is broken. The toilet is very hard to flush. For a 5 night stay, we were given 2 tiny cheap, soaps 2 rolls of toilet tissue. When I asked about getting more, I was told that it wasn’t a B & B. Go buy what you need at the market. The television had no sound. There were no directions on how to use the second remote which was for cable or something. We should have been warned that if the heaters were on, we shouldn’t use the washing machine. It blew the circuits. I sent a message right away, because it was almost dark and we would be in total blackout shortly. Also told the host that my phone was almost dead. It had been just put on charger. After 30 minutes with no response, we went to a market and asked if they could charge my phone. Then we went and sat in the cold night, on a bench, for 30 minutes. We got the phone, no response. I had sent 4 messages. Finally after an hour I get a response. In Italian. After I have told him I can’t translate it without Wi-Fi. So back to ask if I could use Wi-Fi. All this could have avoided if he told us in day one, here is the major switch just in case. The next day, we open the door to go out for the day. We can not exit the apartment due to cars being parked bumper to bumper directly at the door. Again had to message host and he called the police. Needless to say, we would never stay here again.
Good stay
Liked: Nice apartment close to historical places and near the sea. The owner was very helpful.
