Beautiful accommodations deserve equally good hospitality
Liked: The room was clean, comfortable and views were spectacular.
Disliked: Disappointing Experience – Beautiful Apartment, Unprofessional Host Our stay at Mari Fuori Apartments in Civitavecchia was a mixed experience. The apartment was clean, and the balcony was absolutely wonderful, offering beautiful views. Unfortunately, the host's behavior overshadowed these positive aspects. Airport pickup: The host became visibly irritated when we had difficulty following his directions. He criticized my luggage quantity and repeatedly huffed and puffed, making us feel unwelcome on the ride back to the apartment. Inappropriate remark: He made an unsolicited comment about my figure while my husband was not present, which I found completely disrespectful and inappropriate. Violation of privacy: While we were at a nearby café, he entered our apartment without permission and then scolded us for leaving the air conditioning on. Rome excursion: We paid €500 for a private excursion. The host was not a professional tour guide and relied on reading from a piece of paper. He did hire a very kind young man to assist my husband, which we appreciated. Unexpected expenses: On the way to Rome, the host asked whether I had purchased his Colosseum admission ticket, despite our substantial payment of 500 euros. Poor planning: When the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill unexpectedly closed following a tragic accident, he failed to offer a reasonable alternative with requesting additional money. Overall: The apartment itself was clean, comfortable, and offered a spectacular balcony view. However, the host's lack of professionalism, disregard for privacy, and repeated requests for additional money made our 4 day stay uncomfortable. We seriously considered moving to another hotel. Beautiful accommodations deserve equally good hospitality. Unfortunately, that was missing from our experience.

Mare Fuori is a quirky little piece of heaven that would would gladly book again…highly recommended!
Liked: First off, the photos are EXACTLY what the apartment looks like. The location and view are unmatched. It is extremely quiet, and the memory foam topper helped us recover from jet lag. We were there during a heat spell, and the powerful AC was so great to come home to after our outings! EXTREMELY helpful and responsive host!!!
Disliked: There are some quirks, and during our stay we experienced the trifecta - the building lost water, later the electricity went out, and the elevator stopped working (probably as a result of the late night power outage) and I would assume all attributed to the extreme heat. This was totally out of the host’s control.
