  Liked: Garda is a wonderful place, but this hotel is unfortunately outdated. We were not able to get to the hotel at first, until a friendly hotel guest told us that we had to go to a different hotel across the road for check in. We had not been informed about this. The staff were also friendly, apparently we would have received a welcome drink if we had come back later in the evening. The room was in really bad shape, there was visible mold growing on the bathroom ceiling. Definitely not good value for money.

  Great location, clean hotel

  Liked: Great location. Very close to the lake front and all the shops and restaurants. Very clean building. Staff were lovely. check in was across the road but that was no problem.

  Disliked: Breakfast was extremely basic! but the staff there were so helpful and kind.

  Liked: Hotel is pleasant enough however the air conditioning is outdated and really poor. I’d hate to stay here in the heights of summer, it would be unbearable. Theirs no hotel reception inside Silvestro, you have to go the the sister hotel across the road. This isn’t a huge issue, it’s not fair away, but it’s not explained on booking and it’s confusing before you arrive. Our taxi driver didn’t even know of hotel Silvestro, only hotel benaco. You only have one key for the room, this also needs to be inserted for the power and aircon. It can’t be separated, so if one of you needs to go to the reception across the road, the other is left with no power, including lights or aircon. They failed to take payment for the tourists tax on our arrival. We checked out before reception was open in the morning, and was then emailed to pay this on return to the uk. Not a huge problem but can often incur extra charges when paying, depending on your bank account. The hotels very clean and it’s was fine enough but I wouldn’t rate it as a 3 star hotel.

  Liked: Nothing!!

  Disliked: Room was dirty Shower had curtain around it not clean! Room needs to be totally redone up. Same key opened all safety deposit boxes in each room! Madness! Air con didnt work! Lift broken had to carry two 20kg cases up to flight of staires! No reception had to check in across road! Worst hotel I ever stayed in and I have stayed in alot. Says its 3 star more like 1 star! My advice is to avoid this hotel! Its a dump!!

  Despite my illness it was wonderful

  Liked: Wonderful location, you walked around the corner and you were on the lakeshore, fantastic breakfast, most of all the staff and management who were so kind and caring. I was not well during my visit and they were all so kind and helpful

  Disliked: Nothing, everything was perfect, a very comfortable room. Everything was close by, Bank, pharmacy, and the ferry terminal.
