Exceptional
Disappointing
Liked: Very nice location - bedrooms are nice. Although the shower holder in our room was broken.
Disliked: There was a dog in the downstairs accommodation that barked all night. A dog that was left to roam all night and barked incessantly. The property said it was another guest. It didn’t look like another rental property tbh. A lot of money for no sleep. I was tearing my hair out by the morning.
Beautiful property but would not return
Liked: The property is very beautiful and super clean. Mattress was comfy and the bathroom was large and had a fantastic view from the shower. The cleaning lady was lovely and accommodating. I rated the staff lower because of what I mention in the following comment.
Disliked: We did not see anyone apart from a cleaning lady for the entirety of our stay. Granted, it was a short stay. Still we would have appreciated a welcome and short tour of the property and amenities. We were unaware of a room deck and other deck at our disposal because we were unsure if they belonged to another room’s space. Also, I do feel calling it a “Bed and Breakfast” is misleading. There are prepackaged toasts, jam, and a coffeemaker but no daily offerings outside of the meager and lackluster offerings in the room. This would be ok if the property had a cafe or place to go that was walkable from it but, that is not the case. Also, the downstairs tenant had a dog that barked nonstop all day and night. Its enclosure was outside our room and kept us awake.
Liked: We got very good guidance how to get to the room even with late arrival. Spacious room and bathroom. The hall is beautiful. You have a picturesque view to the garden and the sea from a huge terrace. I can imgaine the villa for a small marriage ceremony or a small celebration location.
Liked: This is the perfect lodging for your stay in Ischia. It's a short drive from the Ischia marina, where the ferry drops you off, but the public bus (less than 3€ a ride) is right outside of the hotel to get you back to the Ischia Marina where there are countless bars and restaurants, as well as the main shopping on the island, or to Fario where you unlock another world of the island. So convenient! The hotel staff themselves are so accommodating, as well. The staff during our stay didn't speak anything other than Italian but we communicated over WhatsApp or Google Translate easily. I had a 6:30AM hike one morning and the staff not only made sure I had a car ready to drive me to the meet up location but they left out a cold breakfast and hot coffee in a thermos for me. So thoughtful and above and beyond what I expected. I hope to return not only to Ischia but to Villa Marinella!
Beautiful, convenient stay with character!
Liked: I had a wonderful stay at Villa Marinella. My room was beautiful with art of Ischia on the wall and an incredible view. The bathroom was so cool with stained glass windows and light purple tiles! The bed was a standard European bed, but the pillows were very comfortable! It is right in front of a bus stop, which was very convenient. They even had a driver pick me up from the port and drop me back off. Breakfast was wonderful. The service was great. I can’t say enough good things about the place. I would stay here again!
Disliked: The standard European bed was not to my American preferences
Meravigliosa Marinella!
Liked: For less than the cost of a mediocre American hotel with a view of a parking lot, I enjoyed what felt like a VIP experience. From the start, Alberto and Annalisa made me feel at home. I really appreciated the complimentary taxi to and from Ischia Port, the welcome fresh fruit juice and snack (much needed after 24+ hours awake from traveling), the Salvatore Ferragamo toiletries and the information on what to do in Ischia. I wish I could have had more time to relax on my private terrace and in the other parts of the hotel, and to take advantage of the complimentary pass to Castliglione Thermal Park (I went to Poseidon instead-no regrets at all!)
