  Two weeks of being spoilt!

  Liked: All staff were very welcoming and always helpful and efficient. They made a point of calling us by our names which made it more personal and we enjoyed them taking the time to be chatty - and correct my Italian. The facilities were great. The pool was clean and warm and there were always plenty of sun loungers available. The mineral pool was relaxing. The complimentary use of spa facilities was a bonus and particularly helpful on a rainy day. We also had a massage each which I thoroughly enjoyed. Breakfast had an excellent choice of cereals, fruit & yoghurts, cold meats plus scrambled or boiled eggs and the selection of cakes were all delicious and fresh - some even homemade. Freshly made cappuccinos and espressos were appreciated. We also had dinner a couple of nights which combined traditional cuisine with a modern twist. All delicious and professionally served by Enzo. The complimentary shuttle bus service between hotel and Ischia Porto was a great help when we couldn't face the walk uphill, as was the offer to be collected from a nearby bus stop outside of shuttle hours. It gave us a great case from which to explore the whole beautiful island of Ischia. The hotel being uphill was not a big problem for us as we enjoy walking and the views (especially from the hotel solarium on the roof) were outstanding, but I could see it being a hindrance to some people to have to rely on the shuttle. Our annexe room was really spacious and comfortable.

  Liked: The view from the hotel is beautiful. Breakfast included was so nice and the cost of lunch and or dinner is pretty good. The wine that was offered to us at dinner was nice as well. The staff were so polite and respectful!

  Disliked: The only thing that were cons is that our room had ants, a little bit of mold in the bathroom, and the view from our room balcony was meh.

  Liked: The environment was exceptionally relaxing, pristine, and welcoming, supported by a professional and consistently attentive staff. The restaurant offered an excellent dining experience featuring a refined selection of local products and wines. The accommodations were spotless, modern, and comfortable, and the bathroom was well-maintained with modern amenities. Highly recommended!

  Disliked: Just a few details in the spa, but the overall experience was great!

  A tranquil small hotel - would definitely return

  Liked: A beautiful small hotel in a secluded, quiet location but easy to travel to and from thanks to the complimentary shuttle bus service. The receptionist was friendly, welcoming and extremely thoughtful in helping us make the most of our short stay on the Island. We had some great meals at the hotel - the risotto is stunning. The landscaping makes brilliant use of the tranquil location and stunning views. It was spotlessly clean - rooms, communal areas and pool.

  Disliked: Although the quality of food, speed of service and setting of the restaurant were excellent, we were not shown a wine list and therefore had no way of knowing what the wine would cost. The one we were recommended had a standard restaurant mark-up (at 45 Euros - fair for what it was). However, we only found out the price when we checked out of the hotel.. It would have been more courteous to explain in advance what to expect.

  Relax in a modern hotel with wonderful staff

  Liked: What was most remarkable about the Hotel Grifo was its staff. The maitre d' Enzo treats the guests like personal friends that he has invited for dinner, and astonishes with his impeccable German; one of the receptionists used her car in her free time to fetch our bag which we had forgotten in a taxi; my friend was ever so happy when she got rid of an ingrown toenail in the pedicure session at the hotel. We liked lots of other things, too, like the food for breakfast and dinner, the spacy room, the view from the balcony onto the sea

  Disliked: The hotel lies somewhat remote. We liked some of the places around Lacco Ameno best, but you can only reach them with your car or the always crowded public buses. Of course the hotel has a shuttle, which drives to Ischia harbour several times a day, but from there you have to face standing in the buses. I think the hotel and Ischia in general should not be so dependent on the automobile. What about e-bikes, traditional bikes or hiking?
