Fabulous
Be prepared and fit. Expect many stairs. Location to train station is great and to many restaurants
Liked: Location to train station. Our breakfast hosts were very pleasant and helpful.
Disliked: We had issues finding and getting into the unit. We sent required info in advance as requested but our 'personal assistant' could not or would not retrieve the email so we had to do it again--not fun after a long travel day and we had to beg to get into the patio to resend the info needed. Then we had to wait to get into our room while she ensured we were ok. Once in the room, it did have air conditioning--a big plus. Our room's bathroom had a moldy smell with mold growing on the ceiling, and the bathroom door squeaked--a little WD40 would be helpful. They had a form for us to fill out of all the maintenance issues that needed to be addressed--which we did but shouldn't this be their job? Our list had seven items.
Liked: Location 1st day, only lovely lady, very friendly serving breakfast
Disliked: Mould around shower Room and bathroom dated, shabby and when aircon was switched on, debris fell onto pillow in 1 bedroom. Breakfast area not waterproof Poor value for money
Guest house close to station
Liked: Lovely room, with private patio, comfortable bed and air con. Very close to the station so great for getting to Cinque Terre. It's a pretty house with a nice terrace where you have breakfast.
Disliked: To reach the hotel you have to walk up a very steep hill which is hard with suitcases, then you arrive was a further 2 flights of stairs, so not good if you have mobility issues. We did struggle getting to the hotel. The breakfast was a crossiant and coffee.
Liked: The room was good; breakfast (hot drink, croissant and juice) looked nice and was tasty.
Disliked: - There was no opportunity to leave the luggage before check in or after check out for a couple of hours free of charge. The staff said since they are a guest house they don't have an opportunity to store luggage for free, only if we purchase extra service which is 10 euros per bag. - To get to the room, there are steep stairs which are not comfortable with the luggage. There was an elevator but it wasn't for the use of guests. - There were too many lengthy messages with information on WhatsApp sent likely by AI - it could be much more concise.
It started out nicely but ended up being stressful
Liked: Great location, close to the station and the beautiful city center
Disliked: The day before my arrival, there was a great deal of interest in me and my stay, yet on the day of my check-out, that interest dropped to zero... For the first time ever, I had to pay a deposit for luggage storage, only to find I couldn't retrieve my bags because I couldn't get inside or contact anyone! Thanks to the kindness of other guests, I managed to get my belongings back just minutes before my train to my next destination. It was ridiculous and incredibly stressful for me and my 16 yo daughter!!!! Disappointing and disgusting!
Liked: The room was lovely and clean Breakfast onthe terrace was nice staff very friendly
Disliked: The steps from the road to the rooms
