Lucca is a wonderful town to visit and a perfect base for exploring Tuscany. It has great rail links at very reasonable
Liked: It was good value for money. The owner responded very quickly to our requests, and our contact was excellent in communicating with us.
Disliked: Given that we seem to attract mosquitoes, we were disappointed to find that none of the windows had any mosquito screens, so we were unable to open the windows. The property is a 35 minute walk from the city walls and 40 minutes from the train station. Public transport is very limited - the one bus that runs by the property only passes 6 times a day, and not at all on a Sunday. While we enjoyed the walks into Lucca, others would find this a challenge without a car.
