Exceptional
Liked: Fabulous garden and house. Super well equipped. Great hosts. Spotless. Underfloor cooling was highly effective and needed. The garden was huge. If it had been cooler weather (it was 36C) my teenagers would have really enjoyed the huge lawn for playing football on. As it was, the pool was great.
Disliked: Its in a fairly run down area with poor pavements for walking, and not much around but we did still manage to walk into Lucca centre a few times. The mosquitos and other biting insects were relentless - not the hosts fault of course.
Wonderful, comfortable and classy venue
Liked: Gorgeous stylish place. Found it very comfortable and really appreciate the hosts making the effort to meet us and show us around. The kids loved splashing around and they even put up a paddling pool for our toddler. Great location and near to amenities.
Disliked: Tiny gripes - would have been nice to have a kettle and there was problem with the TV but in both cases to be honest the hosts went out of the way to fix the problem.
Beautiful house with beautiful gardens and fantastic hosts
Liked: This is a beautiful house set in beautiful grounds. The full ground floor of the house is the apartment and it is a very big space. The decor is lovely and all the appliances are high end, it is spotless throughout. The outdoor area is massive and again fantastic. The pool is perfect to cool off in and a good size too. The owners are lovely people who make you feel very welcome. Nothing is too much trouble. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property.

Fantastic
Liked: The villa is fantastic, it has everything you would need. The owners have thought of everything, it has the best underfloor cooling system which keeps the property lovely and cold in the day and night. Far superior to air conditioning. The owners are a delight, and were very helpful, they gave us privacy whilst being on hand should you need help. The gardens are gorgeous, with several seating areas to enjoy around the garden. We loved our stay at the Villa and will definitely be back to stay again.
It was a brilliant holiday
Liked: This is an absolute gem; a beautiful, well equipped villa with a gorgeous garden & lovely pool. Matteo & family are extremely kind, thoughtful & helpful hosts but don’t encroach on your privacy. Lucca is stunning & is well placed to explore the cities, coast and mountains of Tuscany. I can’t recommend Villa Ippocastano enough.

Liked: This is a beautiful villa with really friendly and helpful owners who are available at any time to help you with your stay. The gardens are lovely, there is a good sized swimming pool and the owners put loungers out for us every morning which was a lovely touch! There is free parking in the driveway (secured behind an electric gate) so everything was super-convenient. The villa has underfloor cooling (never seen that before) and so the rooms were always a very pleasant temperature. Really well-equipped and well-located, but also very good value - really couldn’t ask for anything more!
Disliked: There are not very many bars or restaurants immediately surrounding the villa, but it is only around 20 minutes walk into the centre of Lucca (which is amazing and beautiful) so this isn’t really a problem!
