Lovely relaxing spot close to Lucca

Liked: Beautiful retreat, such a unique property to stay at. Lovely host that was so helpful through our stay. Our kids loved their bedroom and felt like they were staying in a castle. The grounds were so pretty.

Apartments good for a couple not more and car essential

Liked: We stayed in one of the apartments not the main house. Make sure you know which part you are booking as they are very different. The setting is lovely but it’s remote without a car. Lots of walks nearby. Staff were very friendly and responsive. Kitchen and seating area good

Disliked: Not a good apartment for more than 2 adults. The second bedroom is tiny and hanging and storage space in a raised area only accessible by a step. I couldn’t access it. Windows either barred or bricked up. Walls had knocks and stains. Main bedroom was better and good and large. Very poor water pressure means awful shower which went cold very quickly even after a plumber came out when we reported it. The nearest supermarket is not walkable. One walkable cafe.

Great stay, perfect with a family

Liked: Very spacious and we had 2 bathrooms which is always a win. Great kitchen and all necessary utensils etc. Washing machine was very handy.

Disliked: Mosquitoes but that wasn’t the property’s fault. We stayed on the bottom floor and you can hear the people on the floor above moving around which is annoying if they are doing so in the middle of the night. Bring swimming towels along as you are not allowed to use the bathroom towels at the pool.

Beautiful Italian house and grounds and perfect for a family getaway

Liked: Fabulous and spacious property for the 6 of us. An historic and traditional Italian family home and in the most beautiful setting and well cared for by the hosts. Proximity to Lucca was excellent and beautiful walks and cycle routes nearby

Disliked: Nothing really. The kitchen was a little tired and electrics needed a bit of an upgrade. The pool was fantastic but again a little tired in places. Overall it though n it much to criticise. We had such a lovely time.
