  Art filled sanctuary in historic palazzo

  Liked: The contemporary design of the Gallery Suite, set in a beautifully restored palazzo and art gallery, provided a warm, tranquil and art filled sanctuary to return to after enjoying all that the wonderful city of Mantua has to offer. The owner Massimo was very welcoming and Pierangela, who met us at the property on our arrival, could not have been more helpful. We very much hope to return.

  wonderful stay

  Liked: We had a wonderful stay in the Gallery and Frescoes Suite. The Highlights: The main room is adorned with incredible 500-year-old wall paintings and sleeping there felt truly magical. Both the bed and bathroom were excellent. The Location: It’s conveniently located just outside the ZTL zone, with a secure public parking lot on the same street about 200–300 meters away. Good to Know: The included breakfast only consists of Nespresso capsules, but the suite features a very useful small kitchenette, which made it easy to manage our own morning meals.

  Not good value, the included breakfast was a packet of dried toast a real rip off

  Liked: Lovely historic building. Clean throughout.

  Disliked: No sound insulation between the floors. We were on the ground floor and we could hear the people upstairs walking and talking and the trolly bags sounded alarmingly loud especially when the people were travelling at 4 a.m. Lots of attention was given to the design/look of the room rather than any practical considerations e.g where do you hang your towels as there were no rails or hooks. Also no T.V or comfortable chair to sit in.Beakfast was included but that meant being given some dried toast in a packet.

  Magnificent Accommodation in Marvellous Mantova

  Liked: Staying in the Frescoes Suite provides so much more than accommodation. It is an immersive experience in history. We loved the juxtaposition of living amongst the historic art in a room that was furnished with contemporary designer pieces. So Italian! The kitchenette and bathroom are modern and we appreciated the dishwasher and finding fresh milk in the fridge and breakfast snacks in the pantry. Another lovely touch were the fresh flowers from the owners garden. Pierangela was a perfect host who kindly picked us up from the train station and kept in touch with us throughout our stay. She introduced us to the apartment and pointed out places of interest to visit and dine while in the beautiful town of Mantova. If you are visiting Mantova from Down Under, we can highly recommend having a coffee at “Ortika Coffee and Food”. They offer flat whites and they are perfectly made.
