This hotel needs refurbishing and updating plus getting rid of their obvious bedbug problem
Liked: The hotel is in a good location near to the train station and the main street with all the restaurants and stores. Breakfast was included and the staff was helpful and cordial.
Disliked: The mattresses did not have mattress protectors and were bare and essentially opened to anything from the different people who use them. They were only covered with thin sheets. The pillows were thin and flat so was uncomfortable to sleep. I would not call this hotel a 4-star hotel. My friend woke up with a rash on her face and what looked like bites on her arms. I thought that she had a reaction to something or mosquito bites. Then I saw what looked like hives on my neck, so we thought that it was mosquitoes outside. By the second night my face also had bites and as we were hiking the trails between the villages, we thought that they were insects from the hike. So, we went to the pharmacy and bought insect repellent. This is when I started to think that maybe this is a bedbug problem. So, when I woke up on the 3rd day I searched the bed for any sign and sure enough I found 3 living bedbugs. We took photos and brought this issue to the reception desk. They were gracious and moved us to another room as we were there for 4 nights. They also said they would need to spray and close the other room. We also had our laundry done to get rid of any bugs which we paid for. I thought that the management would do this for us for free but alas no. So, we continued our trip to another part of Italy with horrible looking bites all over our faces and neck. I was quite embarrassed.
