Exceptional
Beautiful location in a wonderful house and helpful staff
Liked: It feels a remote hideaway in the hills but is not far to drive to Levanto for trains to cinque terra. It is a well maintained house. Also located for great trekking free of crowds
Disliked: It would have been nice to be able to eat at the hotel both nights after a full day trekking
Beautiful views, great food and great people
Liked: Our stay was great, we had a lovely room with a view on the sea. The terrace and relaxing areas were beautiful and very calming. We had an exceptional dinner with great food and wine - and our server was very nice. We also got great advice on what to do around us, including an off-the-beaten-track hike, and logistics to get back to the property.
Disliked: Not much to say - worth noting the property is outside of the main cities so not super well connected by public transport. We hitched a taxi back from Monterosa pretty easily though and you get the benefit of not being in the crowds,
Unique
Liked: A tranquil oasis high up in a hilltop village with spectacular views. Very romantic.
Liked: We had an unplanned doctor visit in the morning of our check-in day that delayed everything planned in our day. I received a call from Angela around 6 pm saying that we were late for our check in and she'd leave notes for us. She reminded me that there is a roughly 100 meters of upheel walk and stairs. Then I realized my mother-in-law joined our trip last minutes and we had totally forgotten about this part. I asked Angela if there was a wheelchair I could use for my mother-in-law. She paused and said "we've got a problem" as the path is not suitable for elderly with mobility issues. She was so generous to stay until 7:30 pm for us so she can run the monorail for my mother-in-law. The monorail is for luggages only but can accomodate two people if needed. Angela was so kind and we were so grateful for her staying late evening to help us with the situation. My wife and I would go back to their place (no parents this time, lol). The place is located on top of the village and is very peaceful.
Liked: The beautiful remote hamlet location!
Disliked: Without a car, getting a taxi to or from Levanto was sometimes difficult with only two taxi drivers servicing the town.
Liked: Absolutely perfect, very close to the crowds of 5 Terre but so peaceful and quiet
