  Spacious apartment in the heart of the city with a local vibe and a touch of historic elegance

  Liked: A wonderful apartment located in the city center in a historic building. Very spacious, with plenty of room, and a pleasant, fresh renovation that preserves the spirit of the old times. A cozy balcony with a nice view, a kitchen with everything you need, and a dining room with a large fireplace. There's a delightful scent of dried flowers (like at grandma’s in the countryside). There are good restaurants right at the doorstep. The owner is friendly and welcoming. And I felt that the apartment actually looks even better than in the photos.

  Disliked: I was very satisfied with my stay and my choice, but for a complete picture, I want to mention some downsides. I booked with some caution when there was only one old review with a perfect 10 and no negatives. The bedroom windows face a street with restaurants and a bar, where people sometimes stay past midnight. The street isn’t very busy, but every sound carries very well due to the acoustics. This includes the sounds of street cleaning, garbage collection, and so on. With the windows closed, the soundproofing is good, and nothing can be heard, but then it gets stuffy to sleep (maybe that’s just me). And with the windows open, it’s also quite bright because there are no curtains in the bedroom (only shutters, but you need to close the windows for those). Again, if you’re comfortable sleeping with closed windows without ventilation, these issues won’t be a problem. There is no desk for working with a laptop, but there is a very large kitchen table in the dining room, which I used for work. The pillows are large and firm, which I found uncomfortable to sleep on. Also, there was no duvet cover (just a separate sheet and blanket), but I know this is common in some regions.
