Our overall stay was really nice and comfortable. Location was excellent
Liked: They had a person at the reception all the time. I loved that. Not every hotel did. The breakfast was good, and the room was clean. The shower was very small though. I also wished you had more places to put our stuff in the bathroom.

Good for being centrally located and cost reasonable for stay!
Liked: Old retro building with lots of interesting artwork throughout. The receptionist was welcoming, the rooms were adequate and location was great very close to all the historical sites and markets.
Disliked: I think the furnishings in the rooms could be updated, old and well used!

Disliked: The hotel facilities are very outdated. We booked and paid extra for a family room, but it was located on the ground floor, right next to a busy square. The noise from outside was extremely disturbing, making it almost impossible to rest, especially when travelling with a young child. When we complained, the receptionist told us that noise at 10 PM was normal. I found this response very disappointing and unreasonable. A hotel is supposed to be a place where guests can rest and sleep comfortably. Expecting a reasonable level of quiet at 10 PM is not an unreasonable request. Although the hotel eventually agreed to move us, we were given a standard double room instead of the family room we had paid for. In other words, we paid more for a family room but ended up staying in a cheaper room category, without any compensation for the difference. I understand that the hotel cannot control the activities in the square, but proper soundproofing and fair treatment of guests should be basic expectations. Moving guests to a lower room category without refunding the price difference is not a satisfactory solution. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this hotel, particularly to families with children.

A little gem
Liked: A well situated hotel with some excellent restaurants within walking distance from it. Also well situated for the centre of this busy city,with the theatre, palaces, shops and other delights of the capital of Sicily. An excellent breakfast, catering for all tastes was cheerfully servered and the bedroom was spacious and clean
Disliked: Perhaps a sitting area to relax in after a long day sight-seeing but there was always the bar!
