Highlight of our trip so far, will come back again

Liked: Location was amazing, great sized room. Very clean, so close to the water!

Disliked: Very loud late at night until early in the morning due to it being so close to restaurants.

    Pleasant

Liked: It was well furnished and in an amazing location

Disliked: If you left the apartment for more than a couple hours it would smell like a sewer in there. Couldnt tell if it was from the drain pipes in the apartment or something else. Old construction and located right next to a night club, very very loud until 3AM on weekends

DO NOT STAY HERE. WORST SERVICE AND BAD LOCATION

    Liked: Nothing.

Disliked: DO NOT STAY HERE. WORST SERVICE AND BAD LOCATION. We had a three-night booking at this apartment. On the second night of our stay, there was noise blasting from the beach club all night, which felt like a nightclub in our apartment. When we mentioned this to the property, they ignored us, and then finally, at 6 p.m. the following day, they said we could leave that night, and they wouldn't charge us for the last night. We left as we didn't want to hear loud noise again. As Portofino Homes was so unresponsive, we followed this issue up with Booking.com. Portofino Homes refunded an amount that was less than we paid for the last night, and they had entirely made up that rate. If it was a typical property with decent management, we should have been refunded for two nights, which included the night we couldn't sleep and the night we didn't stay there. This place is by far the worst place I have ever stayed, with the most appalling service. If this were the last place in the world to stay, I would prefer to sleep in a parking lot. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The service was deplorable, and we have had nothing but stress dealing with this property and booking.com when trying to sort this out.

Reality vs Instagram - a big difference!

Liked: The apartment is very nicely styled which is a shame because the apartment location is the worst. Opening the windows allows you to enjoy the wonderful view of people's ankles as you look out onto the back of beach boxes.

Disliked: It was like a grotto - very dark and dingy. Plus after a day or so the apartment started to smell damp like a basement. The communication with the host could also be so much better. I texted Gabriele about the power being out several times, the front door not locking properly and the internet not working for at least 24 hours; however, instead of helping and finding a solution, Gabriele said I was wrong... nice. Also, the smell in the apartment gets worse over time. We left 3 days earlier because it wasn't comfortable, we didn't feel safe (because of the door) and it smelled bad.

    Very good

Liked: The apartment was very large with a great kitchen space. The location is great, only a 20 minute walk into Portofino or half hour walk to Santa Margherita. The beach out front is largely used by surrounding resorts but there is a public beach a short walk away.
