Liked: The villa is on a hill top with a nice view. There are a lot of facilities you could sit outside on the terraces - if the weather allows (not in the hot summer of Aug) The owner Lapo was very attentive and reacted to the requests very fast.

Disliked: However, we could not enjoy the stay due to the facts: 1. Due to the extremely hot weather, the main house of the villa was very hot. The owner provided the potable units of air conditioning and it helped for the living and kitchen area. But it didn't help for the bedrooms on the 2nd floor, since the portable units need to extend the pipe via window to outside, which was not possible. Though the separate bedroom outside of the main house is equipped with air conditioning. 2. There are quite some details which need to be fixed, which caused unpleasant feelings: - The microwave oven is broken. The owner was very responsive that he immediately bought a new one on the 2nd day. - There are sun umbrellas outside on the terraces. However, none of them were in a proper status - some are ripped off, some are broken. - The dishwasher was also not functioning well - the buttons were not sensitive enough to be pressed and it took a few tries to press the button until it started to wash. It happened that once the water stuck in the dishwasher. The owner came the same day and fixed it. We had major problems of hot bedrooms in the main house, and here and there other issues. Even though the owner was very responsive, we were "confronted" every day during our vacation with small and big problems. We come to conclusion that the house doesn't worth the high price we paid (around 600Euro per night) - especially when you come in hot summer. To be fair, if the weather would not be extremely hot, we would have had a better experience. We recommend the owner paying attentions on the details and considering air conditioning for the hot summer.

    Amazing countryside Tuscany vacation!

Liked: This was the quintessential Tuscan experience, the house has exceptional views of the countryside, surrounded by olive trees and vineyards. The trip to get there was an experience in itself, with spectacular views at every turn of the road. The house is Tuscan style (hence the "Podere" name) and it is exquisitely partitioned and appointed, giving it an authentic feeling. There is nothing like waking up in the morning, puling the window shades and watching the most beautiful Tuscan countryside. We rented this place and then did day trips to Florence and Sienna and particularly appreciated the cooler, quieter countryside when we got back. If you like biking or hiking, this is one of the best places in Tuscany; hike for 500 meters (easy hike) and you get to an olive oil and/or local authentic winery farm. The owner was extraordinarily helpful and made our stay so much better with his recommendations. We could not recommend the property and the owner more! Grazzie mille!

Absolutely astounding villa at the top of Vertine to experience Chianti valley views as part of a historic beautiful hou

Liked: The old house is absolutely gorgeous and with such a stunning view to match words can not do it justice. The several terraces and window views from each room really present a sense of calm and enjoyment from everywhere. While the house is older and comes with some inherent limitations as a result, the host has done an amazing job setting everything up and outfitting for good guest stays. The house and property are lovely and there is space but it is segregated. For cold weather this may not be the best option.

Disliked: We were there during a heat wave so it should be noted there is no AC but the host went out of his way and got portable units for us to put in the windows. One item that should be noted and may not be clear in the listing is the bedroom count. There are 3 actual bedrooms but just 2 are upstairs. The 3rd bedroom is actually a separate area of the villa (the suite as referenced) which requires old stone step access to a different level. We made due with this but had not realized it and led to some challenges with young kids who were therefore in an entirely separate building that requires going outside between including difficult stairs.
