Overrated
Liked: Breakfast was excellent. Almost eat for the whole day with that healthy start. Fresh, varied. Breakfast staff is really nice and welcoming. They really make for the best of the hotel. Cleaning was daily and very good too.
Disliked: Rooms are more like those of a 2-star hotel and definitely not worth the price of staying at this hotel. The surroundings are sad, and the restaurant at the hotel (which I never actually saw operating) is supposed to be open only from 6 pm to 8 pm, so the only other choice if you do not dine before 8 pm, is a 15- or 20-minute walk downtown. The manager could not explain the “extras policy” around the €60 charge, and he spoke to me about it in an exasperating tone. He told us he owned the hotel. Maybe he was the owner, maybe the manager; either way, he got it wrong in both roles. We reserved a “family room” for us and our 17-year-old son. That is possible in booking.com which is the hotel partner in this hospitality business. The picture on Booking.com still shows a king-size bed and a single bed or couch for an adult made as bed. The room is more expensive than another type of double room with a single couch on the side. I assumed the price was much more expensive than double cause it was for 3 persons: 2 adults and the 17 year old. The reservation stated 2 adults family room cause a 17 year old is not an adult in France nor in Italy. Nevertheless, he insisted that we had to pay €100 extra per night (that is other extras than already the major price for the family room) Then the price became €30 extra per night—an extra €60 in total. And to get to this point, we were almost left on the street by this person. Awful experience. Such a pity, because Riva del Garda is a beautiful place, and I chose a hotel for the service, although there are plenty of apartments to choose from near the lake. Would not recommend this hotel and would not go back.

Disliked: The restaurant staff and food, the senior lady making the egg & pancakes, the elevator, and the AC is weak
Great facilities and breakfast
Liked: Breakfast was fantastic and the pools and gym were great.
Disliked: We enjoy a short walk to town so we weren’t concerned with the 10 min walk to restaurants etc but the pool and tennis courts back onto a noisy road which didn’t make our stay idillic
Liked: We really loved the staff! They helped us find a great solution when we needed to extend our stay in the room, and we are very grateful for their help.
Disliked: We also really enjoyed the breakfast. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to try the pancakes because there was already a queue for the lady preparing the food, and I felt bad asking her to make pancakes on top of all the omelettes she was preparing. It would be great if some pancakes could be prepared in advance, so guests could simply help themselves without feeling like they are adding extra work for the staff.
Liked: The breakfast was excellent and the atmosphere was relaxed. Just a short walk into the old town area. The pool attendant that ran aquarobics in the pool was great fun and friendly
Disliked: Busy road runs behind the hotel where the outdoor pool located it is rather noisy
