  Liked: Mario met us at the gate to hand the keys and gave us instructions on how to use the kitchen. However, we should have also asked how to use the air conditioner. It only worked on the first night but not on the two succeeding nights. Good it was not that hot.

  Disliked: We only use one bathroom shower as the main shower is not working properly. No water goes up to the shower head. While there is a stick shower, it hurts when you use it as it not working well. Also, drainage has to be checked on both shower rooms. Both are clogged.

  THE BUTTERFLY BY THE RIVER TIBER

  Liked: This short trip was for a concert of Alanis Morissette which was held at the Auditorium Parco della Musica. We wanted a location that was close to the venue. This was probably the best one. The apartment is located in the Flaminio quarter, next to the Tiber river, surrounded by the Olympic stadium and the Olympic village. Right in front of the building, across the street is the Mancini bus stop, where two lines operate, these are numbers 2 and 280 that connect to the city and the train station that links to the airport. Tickets can be purchased just around the corner, in a small tobacco shop. Our host Marco was wonderful, very polite, gave us detailed information about everything. Also, the communication before the arrival was excellent. He was waiting for us at the location. We walked from the Trastevere station, and explored the city center on the way to our accommodation, it was a wonderful experience. This is the Jubilee Holy Year for the Vatican, so many people and pilgrims from different countries were present in the city. The apartment is within a gated residential building, which has its own beautiful yard. All is well maintained. In the living room there is a huge map of Rome, which can also be helpful. One can prepare some light meals, coffee, leave food in the refrigerator, a nice dining table in the middle of the room. Comfortable bedroom, spacious, also the bathroom was very nice, clean. A nice bakery is at the corner of the building, just as you turn to the left at the main entrance of the complex. Also, many restaurants, small bars and supermarkets are nearby. Very nice and quiet neighbourhood. In the vicinity is the MAXXI - The Museum of the 21st Century Art, designed by Zaha Hadid. Overall, we had very good experience with the property.

  Disliked: Some parts of the building complex were being renovated at the moment, so especially very early in the morning there was a loud noise from the construction works which disrupted sleeping. One other information that I think is omitted in the apartment description is that it is below ground floor, so all the time a specific scent, a musty smell was felt especially in the bedroom. I think this was probably the only minus of this property.

  Recommended to stay here

  Liked: It was clean, comfortable and spacious, the host was super friendly and helpful. It’s in front of the tram and a few cute restaurants.

  Disliked: The only little thing was the laundry machine wasn’t working, but our host Marco recommended a laundry mat near by It’s a bit far form the main attractions

  Wonderfully comfortable, clean and spacious

  Liked: I liked everything, it was a wonderful place to stay. Maybe a little pricey for one person but for a couple or small family you couldn't get better for the money.
