Liked: The location was great, right next to Forno's pizza shop. We were also near local shopping. The Jewish Ghetto was nearby for great food. Easy to walk around and see the city. Breakfast was fantastic. The rooftop bar had great views for pictures. Will definitely stay again.

Liked: The hotel has been cleverly squeezed into a small space in the heart of Rome. The rooms are small but functional and they’re comfortably fitted. They feel fresh and clean. The rooftop bar/restaurant is a treat which, it seems, not many people know about. The breakfast is well-cooked and there’s plenty of it. The staff are delightful and friendly. I’d have no hesitation in recommending the hotel.
Disliked: The only small issue I had was the view from my window, which was essentially of a light-well in the middle of the building. However I was in a single room at a cheap rate, so I can hardly complain. The room itself was extremely comfortable and tastefully furnished.

Liked: The location was perfect. There is a great pizza (Antico Forno Roscioli) and lovely bar (Bar Rossana). The hotel is within a 20-25 minute walking distance to all major sites.

Smeraldo was an amazing place to stay!
Liked: The staff at the hotel was exceptional! We were greeted by name every morning, and they enabled the check in/out process to be seamless. Breakfast was delicious; fresh baked goods from the amazing bakery next door, incredible coffee, egg dishes, yogurt, meats, etc. The restaurant is centrally located; we walked to the colosseum and the Vatican. It is located near several great restaurants and local shopping stores.
Disliked: Nothing, it was perfect!
